The Designer Stephanie Ip Headshot


Born in Los Angeles, California, Stephanie Ip moved to Hong Kong when she was 8 months old. At an early age, Ip developed multiple artistic talents in dancing, music, drawing and computer programming. At age 12, she moved back to her hometown to continue her education, where she had slowly discovered her passion for design. After a short training in school and soul searching within the field of design, she entered Parsons School for Design in New York City to begin her journey in Fashion Design.


During the rigorous training at Parsons, Ip interned and worked at multiple fashion companies to gain industry experiences. Her observations led her into thinking what real Design is truly about.


In the 21st century, Ip believes good design is to take into consideration the life cycle of an object before getting into production; and at the same time, continue to maintain the beauty and function a basic product should have. Good design should speak for itself without in depth explanation. To create designs that embody originality, Ip often draws inspiration from organic objects in Nature, such as flowers, and scientific formations. She wishes to speak and deliver a message to the audience through her designs and processes.
